SP106 – Industrial Operations Wildland Fire Suppression Training

The two-day, MNRF-accredited course for industrial operations that run their own fire equipment cache.

If your operation is legislated to maintain a fire equipment cache under O. Reg. 207/96, your crews need more than basic suppression, they need to run the pumps and hose. SP106 covers everything in SP105 and adds the pump and hose skills to deploy and sustain a full-scale suppression effort.

Is this training required?

If your industrial operation is required to maintain a fire equipment cache under O. Reg. 207/96 of the Forest Fires Prevention Act, your crews must be trained to operate that cache. SP106 is the course for those cache-holding operations, and it is MNRF-accredited. Ontario's fire season runs from April 1 to October 31, so crews should be trained and ready before the season begins.

What is the difference between SP106 and SP105? SP105 covers core wildland fire suppression. SP106 includes all of that content and adds in-depth fire pump operations and hose deployment, handling, and maintenance, plus advanced suppression techniques.
