Film & Television Support

Northern Ontario's landscapes make great shots, and real hazards. We keep your set safe.

Water, cliffs, towers, rigging, stunts, winter conditions: the same things that make a location cinematic are the things that put cast and crew at risk. Siren Safety provides NOHFC-qualified on-set safety and rescue support so your production stays compliant, insured, and, most importantly, safe.

Overview

We embed with productions to handle risk assessment, safety planning, and on-set response for shoots in challenging Northern Ontario environments, from water and fall-protection scenes to remote-location work. Ontario's safety guidelines for the film and television industry mandate a written rescue plan and a risk assessment for every production, and we build those documents around your actual script and shot list rather than a generic template.

Frequently asked questions

Do we legally need a written rescue plan? Yes. Ontario's safety guidelines for the film and television industry mandate a written rescue plan and a risk assessment for every production. Where fall protection is in use, O. Reg. 213/91 s. 26.1(4) also requires written procedures for rescuing a worker after a fall is arrested.

Are on-set medics actually required? First-aid and CPR-certified medical personnel are required under WSIB Reg. 1101, which applies to every Ontario workplace, film sets included. We provide certified medics as part of the package.

Which scenes need standby rescue? Any scene involving stunts, rigging, or working at heights is the priority, along with on-water and near-water work. We read your script and shot list to flag exactly which scenes carry that risk before the camera rolls.
