SP105 – Industrial Operations Wildland Fire Suppression Training

A one-day, MNRF-accredited course for industrial crews working in the bush who are not required to maintain a fire equipment cache.

Mining, railway, pipeline, and hydro operations working in wildfire-prone bush need crews who can respond quickly and safely to fire near their activity. SP105 is developed under Ontario Regulation 207/96 (Outdoor Fires) of the Forest Fires Prevention Act and gives your people the fire skills to act until larger resources arrive.

Is this training required?

SP105 is developed under O. Reg. 207/96 (Outdoor Fires) of the Forest Fires Prevention Act and is MNRF-accredited. It is intended for industrial operations that are not legislated to maintain a fire equipment cache, so they can meet their fire-response obligations during the fire season, which runs April 1 to October 31. Operations that must maintain a fire cache should take the two-day SP106 instead.
