Rope Cutter
The Petzl Rope Cutter (RC2) is an electric, mains-powered cutting tool built to cut and heat-seal the ends of synthetic rope and webbing in a single pass, rather than leaving a raw end that needs a separate whipping or taping step.
It is designed for gear rooms, rope-access companies, and rescue caches that cut and re-terminate rope stock in volume rather than in the field. A heated blade melts through nylon and polyester cordage and tubular webbing and fuses the cut end as it goes, which is faster and more consistent for a shop preparing lanyards, slings, or pre-cut lengths of rope than a hand knife followed by a separate flame or hot-knife pass.
