The Petzl® CSA Lateral Protection is a pack of clip-on side protection pieces for the Petzl® VERTEX® and VERTEX® HI-VIZ helmets (Canada Version) — the additional hardware that brings those helmets into compliance with CSA Z94.1-15, Type 1, Class E.

Safety managers buying VERTEX helmets for use in Canada need this kit on hand: Petzl's own technical notice for the VERTEX Canada Version states plainly that the helmet meets CSA Z94.1-15 Type 1 Class E only with these additional protections installed, and carries no CSA certification without them. The pack clips onto each side of the helmet shell with a push-fit (push to install, push to remove, no tools) and includes the CSA compliance sticker to apply to the shell once fitted. It matters for rope access, tower, mining, rescue, and other Canadian fall-protection and industrial crews who need their VERTEX helmet to carry CSA sign-off, not only the CE and ANSI ratings the helmet holds on its own.
