voltige
Voltige

The Petzl VOLTIGE is an adjustable chest harness designed to be combined with a separate sit harness.

Climbers, canyoners and rope-access workers add the VOLTIGE to their existing sit harness to help stay upright while hanging or rappelling — useful whenever an inverted fall or an unconscious suspension is a real risk, such as on glacier travel, via ferrata, or during extended rope work. Two DOUBLEBACK buckles adjust the VOLTIGE at the shoulders, and a rear cross-over keeps the webbing straps correctly positioned on the body. Its reversible design lets the tie-in point sit on the shoulders or lower, under the arms, so the harness can be set to the height that keeps the wearer stable for the task at hand.

Key features

Two DOUBLEBACK buckles for adjustment at the shoulders

Rear cross-over keeps the webbing straps correctly positioned

Reversible design allows the tie-in point to sit on the shoulders or under the arms

Lightweight polyester webbing construction

One size, for use only in combination with a sit harness

Specifications

Weight: 280 g

Material(s): polyester webbing

Certification(s): CE EN 12277 type D, UIAA 105

Works with

The Petzl VOLTIGE is built to combine with a Petzl sit harness — Petzl does not publish a specific model-by-model pairing list — and is a natural fit for a general mountaineering or glacier-travel sit harness such as the Petzl CORAX, ADJAMA, TOUR, or ALTITUDE, all sold on Petzl Canada, for the added upright support it provides

Common questions

Can the Petzl VOLTIGE be used on its own?

No — the Petzl VOLTIGE is a chest harness only, and Petzl states it is for use only in combination with a separate sit harness.

Which certification does the Petzl VOLTIGE carry?

The Petzl VOLTIGE is certified to CE EN 12277 type D and UIAA 105, the standards that apply to a climbing chest harness.

Why would I add a chest harness like the Petzl VOLTIGE to my sit harness?

The Petzl VOLTIGE helps keep the wearer upright while hanging or rappelling, which matters most during glacier travel, via ferrata, or any situation where an inverted or unconscious suspension is a risk.
