express
Express

The Petzl EXPRESS is an ergonomic quickdraw sling with a STRING keeper, sold as a replacement sling for building or maintaining a quickdraw. It comes in three lengths — 12 cm, 17 cm, and 25 cm — so a climber can match sling length to the pitch.

Sport climbers and route developers use the EXPRESS to assemble or rebuild a quickdraw: its ergonomic shape is easier to grab while clipping, and the STRING at the rope end stabilizes the carabiner's orientation and protects the webbing attachment loop from wear. The three lengths let a climber choose a short 12 cm sling for straightforward pitches or a longer 25 cm sling to reduce rope drag on a wandering route.

Key features

Ergonomic shape for a secure, easy grip while clipping

STRING at the rope end stabilizes the carabiner's orientation and protects the webbing attachment loop from wear

Available in three lengths (12, 17, and 25 cm) to manage rope drag on different routes

Specifications

Weight: 18 g (C040CA00, 12 cm), 25 g (C040CA01, 17 cm), 33 g (C040CA02, 25 cm)

Material(s): nylon, thermoplastic elastomer (STRING)

Strength: 22 kN, all three lengths

Certification(s): CE EN 566, UIAA, UKCA

Works with

The Petzl SPIRIT carabiner, commonly paired with the EXPRESS sling to build a complete quickdraw

The Petzl STRING M, a pack of 10 replacement sling protectors also compatible with the FINESSE and AXESS slings

Common questions

What are the three EXPRESS sling lengths, and which reference is which?

The Petzl EXPRESS sling comes in 12 cm (reference C040CA00, 18 g), 17 cm (C040CA01, 25 g), and 25 cm (C040CA02, 33 g), all rated to the same 22 kN strength.

Why choose a longer EXPRESS sling?

A longer Petzl EXPRESS sling, such as the 25 cm C040CA02, helps manage rope drag on a wandering pitch, while the shorter 12 cm C040CA00 keeps the quickdraw compact.

Does the EXPRESS sling come with a carabiner?

No, the Petzl EXPRESS is the sling only; a climber pairs it with carabiners such as the Petzl SPIRIT to complete the quickdraw.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0732/3002/4792/files/0686800000B8IvFAAV_ba31e2f5-5d16-4b60-ac8d-4b5868da528c.jpg?v=1790858701
